What happened to my great surround sound?
Had our family room system set up by Tweeter 6 years ago and it used to sound amazing. We’ve got great equipment–Yamaha RX-V1 receiver, Klipsch Reference Series speakers & sub, Pioneer Elite TV. Anyone have any suggestions on how to recover our once-great sound?
add’l info:
when watching tv and movies, I get almost NO sound out of the main speakers (big klipsch ref floor speakers). I have played to the best of my ability with the receiver’s settings but nothing I have done is giving me more sound. Sound is coming out (gotta be right up to them to hear it). Also, no sound coming from subwoofer. When I move the connection I get LOUD vibration sound but nothing when I am not moving it. Maybe a bad connection?
Some things to check (turn the volume down first!):
Try pressing 6CH INPUT on the remote or front panel.
The display should show SPEAKERS A. If it doesn’t, open the front panel and press the SPEAKERS A button. Turn SPEAKERS B off, unless you have speakers in another room connected to the B terminals.
Is there anything in the PHONES jack? If so, a headphone icon will appear in the display.
If none of this helps, it could be a problem with the receiver, but it’s more likely something has been set wrong.
